Principal/Mission

Welcome to Santa Fe Trail!

It is truly an honor to serve as the principal of Santa Fe Trail Elementary. From the moment I walked through our doors, it was clear that this is a special place. Our students, staff, and families have created a welcoming community where relationships matter, high expectations are the norm, and every child is encouraged to grow into their very best self.

Since opening in 1953, Santa Fe Trail has built a strong tradition of excellence. Today, we proudly serve approximately 250 students in Pre-K through 6th grade, along with a district self-contained program and the North Area Enhanced Learning Program. We are also fortunate to partner with the YMCA, which provides a preschool program for 3-year-olds as well as before- and after-school care for many of our students. After sixth grade, our Trailblazers continue their journey at Hocker Grove Middle School before attending Shawnee Mission North High School.

At Santa Fe Trail, we believe every student can learn, grow, and succeed. Our dedicated staff works collaboratively to provide engaging, data-informed instruction that meets the unique needs of each learner while fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

One of our greatest strengths is the way our students, staff, families, and community come together to support one another and do what is best for kids. At Santa Fe Trail, we truly believe we are Better Together, and I look forward to partnering with you as we continue building on our strong tradition while creating new opportunities for every Trailblazer to thrive.
